Plastic sunglasses: still fashionable?

In the last few months, the trend for specific sunglasses of any style, look and brand seems to have waned. Last summer, large and oversized plastic sunglasses were all the rage, but now we are left wondering whether these are still fashionable.
Buying sunglasses a few months ago meant you HAD to choose a 50s or 60s style. 80s influences could also be spotted with dark or gradient lenses and tortoiseshell or different coloured frames.

The customised look to suit the customer predominated and colour was key. The more eccentric it was, the more followers it had. And so, we could see light blues and pure whites, or even Sienna Miller’s clear plastic frames, were top choices for sunglasses frames.
But now, with the end of summer and the winter season looming with all its new trends, the status of plastic sunglasses as a fashion accessory is questioned. Considering the frantic pace at which the fashion world and its trends move, sunglasses seem to have been centre stage for too long.

Brands are looking for a replacement. The women who set the trends are always seeking another accessory to make fashionable, and this affects the stores, where these plastic sunglasses are gradually disappearing and being replaced by larger models with a more defined retro feel.
But now is not the time to start talking about new sunglasses models which aim to become the latest trend. Instead we should be concentrating on hanging onto these glasses some want to keep in their drawers for an indefinite length of time.
Plastic sunglasses are like Aviator sunglasses, timeless pieces which will never go out of fashion. It is true that most people will stop wearing them, but they will continue to be extremely popular with a specific public: people whose style is not dictated by trends.
If you have been wearing these glasses up until now because they are your favourites, avoid unnecessary changes. The best thing is to create your own personal style and these sunglasses play a key role, although it’s always a good idea to alternate with other models in order to avoid monotony.

Plastic sunglasses are perfect for a modern casual look. Bright colours are a radical break with the more traditional styles and combinations are much more interesting. At first glance bright red or yellow make a great impression.
Plus, they always look good, they protect us from the sun (which at the end of the day is the most important thing) and provide character.
Hold on to your sunglasses and you could possibly avoid considerable expense while defending your own personal style.
