Rock trend: fashion for this winter by Natalie Portman

The rock trend is the trend to follow this season. Daring, very sensual and masculine at the same time. Whereas the boyfriend style just dresses the woman in men’s clothes, this trend directly takes the male bravado of classic rock icons and applies it to women.
For a while now, celebs like Rihanna have been wearing rock hairstyles, although she does tend to prefer the punk style and mohawks a bit more. I, on the other hand, prefer the classiness and elegance of Natalie Portman, who has just shown us the best possible way to wear this trend.

This was in the editorial of V magazine, where she was photographed, with no touch-ups, by the great Peruvian photographer Mario Testino.
The keys to such a perfect rock style are:
* Hairstyle: this is vital to the style. A very daring masculine hairstyle, cut short (but not shaved) at the sides and back and leaving the upper part long, and wavy if possible, to make it all the more striking. The aim of this is to get something that resembles a quiff without having to go the whole hog.

* Eyeshadow: this is another key point. The eyes are the attraction, and in order to get it right, you should use a pure black eyeshadow to surround the eyes well, giving them greater intensity.
* Lipcolour: your lipcolour must be as neutral as possible. A very pale pink or your natural lipcolour, if you’re lucky enough to have an appealing one, will do. I prefer this soft and elegant alternative to bright red, which I find too bright and sensual, as it lets the other elements of the style do the talking.
* Clothes: once your ideal hairstyle and make-up are done, move onto the clothing. This mainly consists of basic garments from the Autumn-Winter 2009/2010 collections. Firstly, a black leather jacket with studs on the shoulders or sleeves is a must.
You should also wear a basic white baggy and casual t-shirt underneath. And your third item could be a black mini-skirt combined with some leggings, or just bare legs instead, and black ankle boots with towering stiletto heels.
There are many variations on this theme. The white t-shirt could be replaced with a mini-dress, some skinny jeans, some full-length trousers…

* Attitude: although everything I mentioned earlier is key, in order to make this look credible you have to strike the right pose. Masculinity, bravado and other similar qualities will help you get the right attitude.
* Eroticism: don’t overdo this or get it out of context. You either have it or you don’t. It is the attitude, clothes and make-up for the rocker style that transmit the look’s eroticism. Of course, the rock scene has always been very sensual.
