Who is Sophie Auster?
She is one of the new faces of MANGO’s new season catalogue and you’ll be seeing a lot of her. This is why we should give her a proper introduction.
Fans of fashion, I’d like you to meet Sophie Auster, daughter of famous writer Paul Auster. Not only is she passionate about literature, she’s also a singer, actress and model.
She was under 10 when she starred in the adaptation of one of her father’s novels, Lulu on the bridge, and she had already appeared on screen in Washington Square.
Circuit is another of her films, and is also linked with MANGO since both MANGO and she collaborate in the film. Barcelona is the other star of the film.
Another two of her films are As smart as they are: the author project, where she plays herself, and The inner life of Martin Frost.
As for singing, she is a member of One Ring Zero. As you can see, music is part of her life and so she did a photo shoot as a new face of MANGO at the Electric Lady Studios.
So, what’s her music like? In her own words, “it has a cabaret-like, melodic feel”, although I’m sure you’ll recognise lyrics by Paul Verlaine, Guillaume Apollinaire and Paul Auster himself.
Young, highly qualified, fan of Marilyn Monroe (she plastered her bedroom walls with photos of her), hard-working, multitalented, beautiful, attractive and now, one of the new faces of MANGO. And she’s even studying History of Cinema, French Literature and Psychology as a hobby.
