MANGO launches “Canción para un niño en la calle”, a charity project

MANGO isn’t just a clothing brand, it also champions charity causes, as you have seen on many occasions. The latest initiative is to help street kids, and an album full of great artists has been recorded in order to do this.

The title of this CD is “Canción para un niño en la calle” and it’s part of a collaboration with the charity Carumanda, who will receive all profits from the sale of the album, available in all MANGO stores in Spain and Portugal for 9.90 euros. Read more…

Nelly Furtado is one of my favourite mainstream artists. Now she’s back with a new album, “Mi Plan” (2009), with which she hopes to make a bigger impression on the Spanish musical market, as this is her first album completely in Spanish.

For this album, her fourth studio release, Nelly Furtado has joined forces with many important artists, particularly two big names from the Latin market, Julieta Venegas and La Mala Rodríguez, who both participate in the song ‘Bajo Otra Luz’. There are also collaborations from Alex Cuba, Josh Groban, Alejandro Fernández, Concha Buika and even the great Juan Luis Guerra, who sings on ‘Como Lluvia’. Read more…

Arctic+Monkeys+humbug

Arctic Monkeys are back on the scene after a 2-year hiatus following their last album, Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007, Domino). They are back with a vengeance, with a change in style, a new approach to their songs and a great new record, Humbug (2009, Domino).

The third album from the Sheffield band is, if possible, even more rocking than the first two. They have put frenzied choruses and catchy hits behind them and have focused more on influences with a respectable pedigree – from Cream to The Doors, taking in a hint of Queens of the Stone Age.

Now is the time to catch them live on their extended European tour.
