You decide which celebrity should design a collection for MANGO: which celebrity dresses and looks would you buy?

Whether we like it or not, we all have one or two celebrities we pay more attention to. Plus, there’s always one we like because of what she does (singing, modelling, acting or simply partying and causing scandals) but also wins us over with the way she dresses. Most of the time it’s easy to track down her looks and recreate them with items, for example, from MANGO.

But what if they were to design similar styles and you didn’t have to look for them?

Milla Jovovich, Elizabeth Hurley and Penélope and Mónica Cruz have already done this. Who would you like MANGO to collaborate with next?

Which celebrity would you choose as MANGO’s next face?

One of MANGO’s strong points, apart from the luxury collaborations it has season after season for its designs, are the celebrities who represent the brand’s image. And this successful formula isn’t something they’ve only just come up with.

When in Spain there were still no other internationally recognised high-street fashion stores, MANGO was already well-known abroad: it was the only Spanish company specialising in the design, manufacture and sale of fashion and accessories that had supermodels like Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Christy Turlington, Maja Latinovic, Inés Sastre, Karolina Kurkova or Milla Jovovich gracing the covers of their catalogues and their advertising campaigns.

Apart from making an effort to have their own inimitable style everybody loves to “copy” the style of their favourite celebrities, either because they identify with their personality or simply find them more of an inspiration than catwalk models.

Labels aside, what you want is to get a look that is as close as possible to the styles that stick in your mind after flicking through magazines or reading your favourite blogs.

Are you willing to emulate the celebrity you consider most stylish with a little bit of help from MANGO?

It’s not only TV series like Sex and the City, Gossip Girl or The Beautiful Life (Mischa Barton’s new TV project), that speak the language of fashion: reality shows have also jumped on the bandwagon of trends, models, stylists and designers.

America’s Next Top Model (with a format which has been exported to European countries like the UK, Holland, Norway, Sweden or France), Project Runway (which also has a British version), The City, or The Rachel Zoe Project are clear examples of the current importance and appeal of this discipline on the small screen.

With only a simple internet connection and some free time, you will be able to find out about all the ins and outs of the fashion industry from all angles and in the comfort of your own home.

Dress your hair with your own accessories

You quite often have the same problem with accessories as you have with clothes: you see something you love on a celebrity and go absolutely mad looking for something similar with no joy. The thing is, unless you know how to make patterns and sew this is almost impossible with clothes, but with accessories it’s a lot easier, all you need is a bit of craftiness and items we all have at home.

Do you love the bows Lauren Conrad (star of The Hills) wears as grips but can’t find them anywhere? Get a hairpin you no longer use, satin ribbon you will find in any haberdashery, some plastic sheets of the sort used to keep men’s shirt collars straight, and some glue.

Cut several bits of ribbon (whatever colour you prefer) and the same number of plastic strips and join them using a few drops of glue on the same side. Once they’ve dried out, put them in the shape of a bow and place them on the hairpin in a fan shape, pressing down hard with your finger so that it doesn’t come apart. Take one of the remaining bits of ribbon and knot it round. Voilà.

Going on holiday, or on your way home? Dress comfortably!

It may seem silly to be thinking about what to wear for travelling, but nothing could be further from the truth, especially if you have a long and arduous journey ahead of you. If you add to that unbearable heat or an endless wait in an airport or train station, it becomes even more complicated, and dressing badly can ruin the start or end of your holiday.

If you can, avoid wearing those jeans that are a size too small but that you insist fit you, shoes with huge heels (yes, we’re aware that you never know who might sit down beside you, but there is nothing more ridiculous than being all dressed up as though you were going to a wedding in order just to sit still for 8 hours), or blouses that fasten up to the neck. The most practical option is a loose, floaty dress that allows you to move easily (or if that’s not your style, then a skirt and a comfortable top).

For those of you who are allergic to showing off your legs, the ideal option is a pair of jeans that are loose enough to let you breathe normally without having to undo the top button, a pair of ballerina pumps and a simple T-shirt.
