Make-up and hair ideas from MANGO’s Spring Collection

MANGO’s Spring Collection has already hit the stores, and with it, lots of ideas for creating fresh, feminine and flattering looks. But this collection inspires a lot more, including make-up and hair suggestions that have been spotted on the catwalk.
Make-up is all about skin, with very natural nude finishes, but this does not mean that it isn’t skilful. Quite the contrary, concealer and a good foundation will help you hide blemishes to give your complexion an even tone and texture.
Very soft colours in natural shades enhance lids and lips. But you should add a touch of luminosity by using a highlighter on the inner eye corners and a touch of lipgloss.
Three party make-up looks brought to you by the MANGO girls

Although clothes and accessories are important for a party look, hairstyle and make-up are just as important. What’s more, if they’re not properly done, they can ruin even the nicest of dresses.
The stylists, make-up artists and hairdressers of MANGO campaigns know a lot about this and that is why we’ve taken a look at some of their creations, to recreate them this Christmas.
The first look can be seen on the gorgeous curvy Marie-Ange Casta. One of the rules of make-up is that you should do up your eyes or your lips, never both. Here all the attention is focused on those wonderful red lips, totally festive and sensual.
Organise your lipsticks like a professional make-up artist

Many women are faithful to just one lipstick. That’s not how it is with me. I must admit that I’ve no idea how many lipsticks and lipglosses I have exactly, and this is a real pain when it comes to keeping my products tidy and finding the one I want. If I was a one-lipstick woman, I just wouldn’t have this problem!
You can buy storage systems for lipsticks and other make-up products but here at MANGO THINK UP we have a suggestion for you to make your own lipstick customised storage system to measure, and of course, it will cost you a lot less!
Here’s a video for you from EnKoreMakeup explaining step-by-step how to make an organiser for lipsticks. All you need are some cardboard boxes, scissors, sellotape, a ruler and a felt-tip pen. It’ll take a while but with a bit of patience you’ll see brilliant final results. Your lipstick organisation will look very professional!
Get Scarlett Johansson’s make-up look from the Autumn-Winter collection

A few days ago we showed you MANGO’s latest trends for this Autumn-Winter 2009/2010 collection, brought to you by Montag and Scarlett Johansson. Just like we did for the actress’s first collaboration with the Spanish brand, here we examine her make-up so that you can copy it easily at home.
It’s discreet and very flattering, using mainly browns and nudes, and the focus is on the eyes. This make-up will suit you no matter what your hair and eye colours are, as it uses rather neutral shades. It’s also very versatile, so it’s very easy to match to clothes.
The eyeshadow shades used aren’t too intense or bright. You should use a beige base colour for the entire lid and then apply a mink-coloured eyeshadow over it, insisting especially on the crease to give the look more depth. Both these shadows must be matte.
Party look for your make-up

Halloween is almost here and you know it. The one thing you know for sure is that even after all these years you have no idea how to wear your make-up and make the most of it, while looking different. Now that you’ve said bye to masks you can look perfect with your favourite colours.
There’s no need for you to make up as a monster, all you have to do is make the most of your features using basic eyeshadows. Have a rummage through your make-up bag and try out a few looks. Read more…
Red lipsticks against the credit crunch

This is not an urban legend: in times of crisis, the sales of lipstick, particularly red, soar. There is even an economic index that gets its name from this peculiar female phenomenon (the lipstick index, which monitors the increased sales of cosmetics during recession). Though this may seem absurd, it isn’t surprising that when things aren’t going well and we can’t buy clothes and accessories, our biggest consolation is buying extravagant makeup. Leave the neutral discreet tones for the good times when you’re not short of money.
And there is nothing sexier than a scarlet mouth. Now that it seems that the “womanly woman” is making a comeback and the androgynous look is a thing of the past, there are a series of things to remember.
Recreate Scarlett Johansson’s make-up in the Autumn-Winter 09 collection

There are lots of things about MANGO’s new Autumn-Winter 09 collection that attract my attention, one of which has nothing to do with the clothes. I’m talking about the amazing make-up worn by Scarlett Johansson, the face of the campaign, a look that you yourself can achieve at home without breaking the bank.
It’s a very versatile look, as we can see by the way it suits all of the various MANGO styles. Independently of this, it will also bring out the colour of your own hair and eyes.
The make-up looks for the coming season do not follow a strict trend in terms of colour this year. In the case of Scarlett’s make-up, MANGO has opted to extend the magic of summer in the eyes with shimmering shades of gold, beige and earthy colours, which perfectly capture the warmth of the summer months.
